Clean EAts

Vessel Kitchen- 1784 Uinta Way, Park City, UT

This is currently my favorite place to get breakfast/lunch/dinner in Park City. This farm-to-table inspired fast casual cafe serves affordable, organic when possible, locally sourced dishes that are seasonally rotated to reflect the change in produce from the harvest. Quality, whole-food, real ingredients at a great price? Yes, please!! They even have locally made Kombucha on tap with the flavors changing with the batches (the Concord Grape and Blackberry Rhubarb Kombuchas are delicious!) Spring Breakfast favorite- Morning Mediterranean (2 eggs, spring vegetable hash, mediterranean salsa, spicy avocado crema, sourdough toast) is bursting with veggie goodness while still filling. Lunch/Dinner are harder to choose from! They have a wide variety of salads, hearty bowls (think nutritionally based comfort food), or you can create your own plate from their variety of proteins and house made sides.  I could literally eat here everyday we are in Park City and be perfectly content!

Tip: Make sure to try their macaroons if you have a sweet tooth. They are perfectly light and crisp on the outside and creamy, smooth heaven on the inside!

SPAS

Align Spa- 1792 Bonanza Dr. Park City, UT

5/28/17 - This modestly appointed, large size neighborhood spa is located in a little shopping center just outside of the main tourist area of Park City.  They carry Eminence Organic Skin Care (check out the Eminence brand here) as their main skin care line and also have a smaller selection of various other wellness lines.

They were in the process of remodeling half of the spa when I arrived on a gorgeous spring day- which makes sense since that is a slow time for the area. I was excited to try the Eminence Organic Coconut Body Firming Wrap but unfortunately their shower was one of the things being remodeled so maybe next time! I did opt for the 90 minute Therapeutic Massage $140 (which I'm not quite sure how it was different from a firm pressure Swedish Massage but I assume deeper techniques were used).

I arrived over 30 minutes early to relax and ensure there was no rushing (a pet peeve of mine when going to the spa).  I enjoyed their complimentary internet access, nuts/dried fruit/tea and relaxed until my therapist, Devon, retrieved me (8 minutes early, yay!).  We discussed areas to be worked on, areas to avoid, and he left me to change.  I'm not going to sugar coat it- the room was super tiny - almost claustrophobic.  I was afraid that he would trip over my shoes if I left them anywhere on the floor! However, it was super cozy and the bed warmer kept the temperature comfortable.

Devon was a pleasure to talk to and best of all, when I stopped talking, so did he. That's a hallmark of a good therapist- they follow your cues. The massage was lovely and I didn't realize how sore I was until he found several trigger points that needed some major attention.  The pressure was intense at first but with a lot of deep breaths my muscles and fascia finally seemed to take the hint and started to relax.

When my 90 minutes were up the check out process was a breeze and I was out the door with no stress, just relaxed muscles.

Overall, I really like Align Spa. It is a great place to come for your regular maintenance services- not a lavish hotel spa but the massage was much better than the general fluff you will receive at a fancy hotel and at a much more affordable price point.  I am looking forward to trying out a facial and body wrap next time!

Note: If you are looking for a full-on resort spa, this is not it. Good services for a fair price, yes, but if you are looking for steam rooms, pools, saunas, and locker rooms then you might want to try one of the big hotel spas in town.  In addition, the owners do warn you on the website that they have some "spa dogs" that visit the spa waiting room from time to time. The dogs are very sweet but if you have sever dog allergies then this might not be the place for you.
